Castelbello-Ciardes is a cyclists’ paradise that runs along the ancient Roman Via Claudia Augusta in the south of the cultural region of Venosta Valley. This cycling trail along the river Adige is best experienced with a racing bike. The best flow-trails, which should be explored by mountain bike, can be found on the surrounding mountains, the barren Monte Sole Mountain and the green Monte Tramontana Mountain – two completely different biking worlds within a short distance from each other.

The cycling trails through the wide, flat valley basin are ideal for moderate cyclists and families. The 80km long Etschradweg trail, which runs slightly downhill, is particularly popular. There are many places to stop in the Castelbello-Ciardes area.

Bike Rental, Bikemobilcard, Bikeshuttle
"Suedtirol Rad" offers bicycle rentals at seven train stations along the Venosta Valley railway line. These rental bikes can be returned at each station with the sign "Suedtirol Rad".

The Bikemobil Card allows the use of all public transport in South Tyrol and the one-off use of a rental bike.

From the beginning of April to the end of October the Bikeshuttle Service offers a shuttle service. Zion Reisen also offers a daily people, bicycle and luggage transport service along the cycling route of Via Claudia Augusta.
