Plomboden lakes circular hike on the Monte Tramontana on Ciardes

Route description

Start at the "Schartegg" parking and follow the moderately ascending forest road no. 4 until Malga di Tablà. Continue upwards on path no. 5 southeastwards until the fork. Turn right and follow path no. 18A southwestwards to a saddle and to the Plomboden lakes.

Descent: From the upper lake follow path no. 18A westwardes until another saddle for a few minutes. Cross it and continue on stony slopes and alpine pastures (path no. 18A) down to the Zirmtal lakes. Continue northeastwards on path no. 18 that takes you up to a forested crest for some 20 minutes. Cross it and descend to Malga di Montefontana /Malgda Alt in a zigzag course. Return to your starting point at the "Schartegg"parking on the forest road with bends through the forest.

Description to arrive at destination

To the traffic light turn left, pass the Hotel Kesslwirt, over the Adige Bridge towards Tomberg. Follow the paved road to get to a wide forest road that leads directly to the parking area "Schartegg"
