Andreas Heinisch e uno che sa quello che vuole. Quando suo padre perse la vita in un tragico incidente e lascio una vedova con 7 figli, Andreas aveva 14 anni. Imparo il mestiere del muratore e piu tardi voleva andare in Svizzera, come molti altri del suo paese. Ma le cose andarono diversamente. Suo padre Klaas aveva acquistato precedentemente il maso Oberrun. Nessuno dei fratelli di Andreas voleva trasferirsi da Mazia paese fino a Run. Andreas, il muratore che aveva gia costruito case per molte persone, lo sapeva bene: “Se costruisci una casa, hai una casa!”, poi arrivo la gioia per il bestiame, in particolare per le mucche. Con i soldi messi da parte e con i contributi provinciali nel 1998 costrui la stalla e il fienile e diede al nuovo maso un bel nome retoromancio “Aviuns” dal ruscello nella gola ai suoi piedi. Alcuni anni piu tardi fu costruita la palazzina con 5 appartamenti per turisti. E un esempio di architettura moderna riuscita che si integra bene con il paesaggio circostante a 1600 metri sul livello del mare. La compagna di Andreas, Diana, viene dal sud della Germania; Andreas l’ ha conosciuta come turista. Per il suo Andreas, Diana ha lasciato il suo lavoro in Germania e si e trasferita qui. Insieme gestiscono un moderno maso biologico con 30 mucche e 5 appartamenti per turisti. La nostalgia di casa, che ogni tanto la prende, viene scacciata via dal meraviglioso paesaggio e dalla vita immersa nella natura. E naturalmente anche dall’amore per il suo Andreas.

A tradition that transcends borders. 🐑 Since 2019, transhumance in the Schnalstal valley has been recognised as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Every September, the flocks of sheep return to the valley across the main Alpine ridge – crossing glaciers and a national border.

There’s nothing better than a fresh apple straight from the tree. 🍎

The first Vinschgau apples are now being harvested on the sunny slopes at altitudes of between 500 and 1,000 metres. Plenty of sunshine, the Vinschgau wind and the temperature differences between day and night give them their unique flavour.

Autumn is slowly setting in on the Vinschgau valley High Mountain Trail. 🍂

Stretching 108 km, the trail leads from the source of the Etsch river at the Reschen Pass to Staben – through the sunny slopes of the Vinschgau valley, past historic mountain farms and offering impressive panoramic views of the Ortler Group. It’s a special high-alpine multi-day hiking experience, especially in autumn.
